HOMAGE TO PC JOSHI ON HIS 100TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY!
It is heartening to learn that both the Communist Party of India (CPI) and CPI (Marxist) are paying homage to Puran Chand Joshi (popularly known as elder PC to distinguish him from the other PC Joshi, also a communist and younger) on his 100th birth anniversary.
PC Joshi was the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India from 1935 to 1948. He was removed from this post in 1948 and ultimately expelled from the Party but readmitted in 1951. PC Joshi was an exceptional and inspiring leader. The communist movement only suffered by castigating him. Undoubtedly, homage to PC Joshi by both CPI and CPI(M) is not only deserving but also promises a better future for the Indian communist movement. Editors)
