BRITISH COLUMBIA SENIORS SHANTHI NILAYAM (LET SENIORS GLOW)
We are deeply saddened on the demise of our dear friend, mentor and above all a leader from whom the Tamil community derived strength and encouragement throughout their struggle for emancipation and deliverance from oppression.
To Dr Hari Sharma’s extended family, friends and colleagues, Shanthi Nilayam extends their deepest sympathies. Dr. Sharma was in the forefront in organizing regular statements on behalf of the besieged Tamils in Sri Lanka. Furthermore through SANSAD he organized a number of seminars and public forums on the civil war in Sri Lanka. Through these efforts the plight of the Tamils in Sri Lanka was highlighted across the globe and especially through academia in the east as well as in the west. The Tamil community in British Columbia is forever grateful for his services.
In 2009 during the rally in Vancouver, Dr. Hari Sharma was there in solidarity with the people in spite of his poor health and few months later he chaired a forum on the Sri Lankan war.
Thank you Hari Bhai for your support. Shanthi Nilayam shall be indebted to you and will continue to follow your footsteps in the fight for justice for all.
